Dragomir said the sector has recovered from the net loss of 2009, bringing the total worth of software exports to around EUR500 million in 2010, above the level reported in 2007, before the crisis began. In 2008, IT exports accounted for almost EUR650 million.
According to Dragomir, Outsourcing made up more than 90% of the IT exports of 2010. Security, enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) made up the rest. Romanian companies are the partners of choice for many foreign customers, especially ones located in Western Europe and North America.
The top IT exporter in Romania in 2010 was Nokia, said Dragomir, citing data published recently by the National Institute for Statistics.
ANIS expects IT exports to grow by a further 10% this year.
