Romanian Police Aircraft Might Be Rented To Individuals, Companies

Romanian police aircraft might be rented to individuals or companies, to supplement the Interior Ministry's "insufficient" budget, says a draft Government decision put up for public debate on Tuesday.

The draft amends Government Decision 787/2003 to allow the Interior Ministry to operate „activities financed entirely from its own funds.”

The decision says the ministry can „provide services to individuals or companies using the aircraft of the General Aviation Inspectorate.” It does not say how much the ministry expects to earn from such services.

In addition, according to another draft, also published Tuesday, the ministry’s aircraft can be used for „filming for cartography purposes.” The same proposal says the aircraft could be used to provide various transport services.

The second document’s explanatory note says „the budgetary funds allotted o the Ministry of Administration and Interior are insufficient” and „do not allow the proper maintenance and running of the aircraft.”
