Italian PM Berlusconi To Visit Romania For Inter-Govt Meeting Next Week

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is expected to come to Bucharest next week for a meeting with Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc and an inter-government reunion, attended by ministers from the two cabinets, people close to the matter told MEDIAFAX.

„Prime Minister Berlusconi’s visit to Romania is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday,” said the sources.

Bogdan Aurescu and Alfredo Mantica, state secretaries in the Romanian and Italian foreign ministries, announced in January that a new bilateral meeting would take place in Bucharest in May.

Such a meeting had been held before in October 2008 and led by Berlusconi and then-prime minister Tariceanu.
