Romanian Tourism Min Awards EUR3.2M Consulting Contract For Tourism Brand Promotion

The Romanian Tourism Ministry awarded a EUR3.2 million contract to firm EMC South Central Europe-The Network, which will provide consulting services to promote the country’s tourism brand, the ministry said in a press release Friday.

The contract will run for three years and does not include VAT.

The firm will assist the ministry in coordinating tourism brand promotion and controlling the annual marketing budget.

Contract awarding criteria considered the lowest price.

EMC South Central Europe-The Network was set up in 2008 by Cristina Gheorghe and Eusediu Margasoiu.

The firm said in a press release Romania’s tourism brand will be promoted in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Austria, the United States, Spain and Russia.

The creation and promotion of a tourism brand are financed with European funds and are part of a project promoting Romania as a tourist destination. The project was allotted EUR75 million, to be used by the end of 2013, of which EUR74 million only for promoting the tourism brand.
