Compared to hotel fees in Hungary and Austria, the tariffs charged by Romanian hotels are lower by 5% and 50%, respectively.

On the other hand, accommodation tariffs in Bulgarian hotels are 20% lower than those on the Romanian market, said FPTR.

As hotel owners face higher taxes and workforce costs, they can’t both lower tariffs and improve the quality of the services they provide. Businesspeople operating on the tourism market fight for existence, not for profit, reads the press release.
