520 Employees In Romania’s ArcelorMittal Hunedoara File Requests To Leave Co

Over 520 employees in Romanian steel plant ArcelorMittal Hunedoara enlisted themselves between December 16, 2008 and March 31,2009 on the lists of persons willing to voluntarily leave the company.

The lists were closed Tuesday, at GMT1100, according to ArcelorMittal Hunedoara’s management, and the requests will be analyzed by the company.

According to latest information, the plant has more than 1,200 employees.

ArcelorMittal Hunedoara’s general manager Remus Patan said that part of the employees will leave the company as of April 1, while others will be laid off on April 10.

The dismissed persons will receive compensatory payments according to the length of work, plus their monthly salaries for a determined period of time.

The steel plant’s activity has been ceased in February and was resumed two weeks ago. According to the management, the company has orders for the entire April.

Besides the plant in Hunedoara town, UK-based ArcelorMittal group owns another three steel plants in Romania.
