Romanian Leu Higher Vs Euro In Early Trade

The Romanian leu opened higher against the euro Tuesday, amid a positive sentiment on regional markets.

The leu opened at RON4.2220/RON4.2260 against the euro, similar with Monday’s closing value and touched an early high at 4.2085/RON4.2125.

Then, at around GMT08:20, the leu was trading at RON4.2085/RON4.2125 against the euro.

The leu closed at RON4.2235/RON4.2250 to the euro Tuesday, significantly stronger compared with RON4.25 to the euro at the end of Friday’s trading session.

The National Bank of Romania computed Tuesday a daily indicative of RON4.2392 against the euro, the leu’s strongest level in the past two months.

On the money market Tuesday, overnight rates were at 9.5%-10.5% a year.
