In the first two months, the budget revenues fell by 6.8% compared with the same period a year earlier, while the budget expenditure rose 10.1%, he added.
The total revenues were 1.88 billion lei (EUR1=RON4.2392) lower than in the first two months of 2008, Pogea said during the seminar “Mediafax Talks about Business Solutions to Crisis.”
Pogea added the receipts from the income tax and the value added tax posted the largest drops within the budget revenues, of 13.4% and 7.6%, respectively.
According to preliminary data posted last year on the Finance Ministry’s website, in January-February 2008, the consolidated budget posted a RON910.3 million budget surplus, following RON27.4 billion revenues and RON26.5 billion expenses.
