Domo Partners Up With Winmarkt To Open New Unit In N Romania

The partnership between the two companies also stipulates expanding Domo’s units in Winmarkt's shopping centers from the country’s eastern towns of Buzau, Braila and Vaslui and extending the contracts for another 5 locations by 2014.

"Winmarkt shopping centers network and white goods retailer Domo signed on March 31 a partnership for the next five years, by which the latter will be present in nine Winmarkt centers countrywide," the two companies announced Wednesday in a press release.

Thus, Domo will open in April-May period a 1,000 square meter-store in Winmarkt Magura mall from Bistrita.

Following this partnership, Domo will occupy, in the next five years, retail units totaling 6,460 sq.m in surface in the Winmarkt shopping centers.

Winmarkt’s partnership with Domo was sealed two weeks after the one with Carrefour Romania, the local unit of French retailer Carrefour, who will expand its supermarket network by opening three units in Winmarkt shopping centers from Cluj-Napoca, Bistrita and Turda.

Since April 2008, Winmarkt is owned by Italy’s Immobiliare Grande Distribuzione (IGD), a real estate investor listed on Milano Stock Exchange with a EUR1.4 billion portfolio.

Domo Retail owns a network made up of 131 stores, respectively 125 Domo and 6 Technomarket units, totaling over 75,000 sq.m in retail surface.
