Romania’s Energy Watchdog Head To Present Govt Gas Tariffs Situation
Petru Lificiu, the president of Romania’s energy watchdog ANRE, attends the Government’s Wednesday meeting to speak about the current situation of the natural gas tariffs.
ANRE decided to keep after April 1 the tariffs for the household natural gas, even though its president previously said the authority might cut gas price by up to 3%.
Lificiu explained that the gas prices will not be reduced, in order to allow the distributors to recover part of their 2008 losses.
In 2008, the natural gas price rose twice, respectively by 8.5% in February and 12.5% as of July 1.
