Romanian Parl Invites PM To Discuss IMF Loan, Budget Revision

Romania’s Prime Minister Emil Boc was invited to attend a meeting with the two Parliament Chambers' Standing Offices and the Budget-Finance Commissions' members, Upper House Speaker Mircea Geoana said Wednesday, after a similar discussion with the central bank governor Mugur Isarescu.

Geoana said the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies Standing Offices decided to invite Boc and several ministers Monday, at GMT1100, to discuss about the loan agreed with the International Monetary Fund and the possible “significant adjustments” of the state budget.

Geoana also said Isarescu has the freedom to address the Parliament, when necessary.
