Armed Robbery At Sports Betting Shop In SE Romania

According to the local police chief Nicolae Pescaru, the two broke into the shop around 9 p.m. and, while threatening to kill the cashier with what appeared to be a silver-colored pistol, they scooped up the cash and fled.

The employee, however, managed to press the panic button and police squads and contracted guards soon arrived at the scene.

Pescaru said it is a bit strange, however, that the security squads hired to keep close watch on the shop did not notice anything unusual although they had been at the shop fifteen minutes before the robbery.

He also said investigations are underway.
