However, according to the statement, ANAR estimates that in the worst-case scenario, a “Plan of restrictions and use of water in critical periods” will be applied. It requires a gradual reduction in water consumption, but of no more than 15% of the normal consumption. In this scenario, water will be provided chiefly to population, industry, agriculture, in this order, with the other two water consuming branches, fish farming and recreation left last.
ANAR monitors the quantity of water in Romania’s reservoirs constantly and, for the immediate future, water can be supplied to all consumers at normal levels, the statement says. Also, rivers are flowing at normal capacity.
The statement also says that currently there is enough water to supply irrigation.
