About 1 Million Romanians Work Illegally, Says State Secretary

„There are about one million black market jobs in Romania,” Ivaschescu said at a seminar on human resources organized by newspaper Ziarul Financiar.

The state secretary said the ministry wants to increase the number of jobs, adding a first step toward this objective was the adoption of a new Labor Code.

The results of enforcing new labor laws will be assessed monthly and a report on how the new Code influenced the labor market will be presented at the end of the year, according to Ivaschescu.
