Romanian President Traian Basescu announced on January 12 that the authorities will sent the Commission a proposition to amend the public procurement laws, in view of improving
procedures to access European funds.
Basescu said Romania’s goal is to reduce evaluation periods for EU funded projects to 30 days from 87, and to cut accessing procedures to maximum one month from nearly 90 days.
