The committees are expected to meet later today and interview the candidates for the central bank’s Board.
All parliament parties support Mugur Isarescu for a new term at the central bank’s helm.
On Monday, social democrat MP Viorel Stefan said his party nominated Isarescu for central bank’s governor, Florin Georgescu for first deputy governor and Dinu Marin and Nicolae Danila as Board members.
The Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania will back Agnes Nagy for Board membership, while the National Liberal Party nominated Daniel Daianu for the deputy governor position.
However, Stefan said the liberals are not entitled to a deputy governor position in the central bank’s Board.
The third nominee of the democrat liberals is Virgil Stoenescu.
