Romanian Fin Min Invites Social Partners To Talks On Anti-Crisis Measures

Romanian Finance Minister Gheorghe Pogea has invited officials of trade unions and employers’ associations to a new round of talks on potential measures to tackle the economic crisis, official sources said Friday.

The talks are scheduled for Friday at 14.30 hrs, local time.
 
According to the invitation extended by Pogea, the talks between government officials and representatives of the social partners will focus on anti-crisis measures.
 
The meeting’s agenda might also include the 2009 draft budget, the mentioned sources said.
 
Romanian authorities formed three work committees together with unions and employers, which are to discuss measures to relaunch the economy and social protection matters by next Wednesday. The measures are to be included in the 2009 state budget to counter the financial crisis.
 
The work groups include the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Finance.
