Sun Plaza Shopping Mall In Bucharest To Open On Feb 25 After EUR200M Invest
The construction has a built area of 210,000 square meters, of which 80,000 square meters of retail area.
The project’s completion was postponed several times. Initially, the works were scheduled for completion in 2008.
In October 2009, the two investors announced the shopping mall would open on February 18, 2010.
Sun Plaza will include 150 stores, will provide 2,000 parking spaces and will be connected to Piata Sudului subway station through an underground passageway.
Cora hypermarket, Baumax, Mobexpert and Flanco are some of the retailers opening stores in Sun Plaza. Moreover, the mall will include Inditex’s brands, namely Zara, Pull and Bear, Bershka and Stradivarius.
Sparkassen Immobilien, the real estate division of Austrian group Erste Bank, also owns two other lands in Romania, one in Grivita area in Bucharest, where the company plans to build office premises and a four-star hotel, and another one in Jilava, near Bucharest, where the investor might build a shopping mall.
Romanian-registered EMCT is owned by two French businessmen.
