Agricola Group Posts 10% Turnover Growth in 2018, to RON737M

At the beginning of 2018, Agricola exited the Comcereal business (cereal production, trade and storage). Excluding the Comcereal business from Agricola's 2017 turnover, its 2018 turnover grew 10.7% on the year, after annual growth of 5% in 2017.

Agricola sold 45,275 tons of poultry meat in 2018, 7.5% more than in 2017, and Agricola International SA Bacau, the biggets company in the group, had a turnover of RON463.7 million, up 15% on the year.

On the cold cuts segment, operated by Salbac SA, the group's turnover grew 7% on year, to RON133 million, as sales volumes grew 6.5%.

Europrod SA, the group's producer of ready-meal type products, had a 22% growth in sales in 22% and a 12% growth in sales volumes. This year, the company plans to invest EUR5.5 million to double its production capacity on this segment, said Agricola CEO Grigore Horoi.

On the egg segment, Avicola Lumina Constanta's sales grew 10.5%, to RON51 million. The company sold 80.7 million eggs.
