Carpatair will operate ten flights per week on the Budapest- Venice route, on Saab 2.000 aircrafts with a capacity of 50 seats.
This will be Carpatair’s first flight on the Hungarian market. The code-share partnership will allow Carpatair to handle transport services and Malev to handle marketing operations.
In a press release Wednesday, Carpatair said the code-share partnership will not only allow passengers to travel on the route Venice – Budapest, but it will also enhance onward connectivity for various destinations in Europe, via Malev hub in Budapest.
Carpatair said the new flight is part of its regional development strategy meant to boost its constant and durable flight operations toward various destinations in Europe.
The new flight will allow Carpatair to add ten new weekly flights to its existing 20 flights, which include six flights on the route Venice – Timisoara and 14 flights on the route Budapest – Chisinau, in the Republic of Moldova, based on a code-share partnership with Moldavian Airlines.
Carpatair’s medium-term development strategy also includes the launch of two new flights from Bucharest to Bari and Ancona in Italy, which will be operated three times per week and twice per week, respectively, as well as the extension of its fleet with three Fokker 70 aircrafts, with a capacity of 72 seats.
Carpatair, established in 1999, operates over 250 regular flights per week toward 30 destinations in six countries. It operates 94 flights per week from Romania to Italy alone.
