Over 2,500 Protesters On March To Romanian National TV Network HQ

More than 2,500 protesters have left Bucharest's Victoriei Square on a march down Aviatorilor Boulevard to Dorobantilor Avenue, planning to rally again outside the headquarters of the public television network, TVR.

The protest, organized by a union of laid off and retired military personnel, began at 11.30 a.m. The organizers stated 10,000 people from all over the country were expected in Victoriei Square.

At 2 p.m., half an hour earlier than initially announced, the protesters left on a march to Dorobantilor, shouting antipresidential and antigovernment slogans.

According to the organizers, the rally is a show of solidarity with the recent protests in Bucharest and elsewhere in the country.
