According to the border police inspectorate, one officer asked for the truck to be searched and found the illegal passengers.
"Among boxes of soap, there were 26 men, Iraqi citizens, aged between 17 and 35. one of them admitted, in English, they were trying to get to Germany,” said Arad police inspectorate spokesperson Alexandra Retegan.
The passengers and the Greek truck driver are to be heard on Tuesday.
