Orange and Vodafone are the top two mobile telephony operators in Romania, with some 20 million customers jointly.

Under ANCOM’s Decision 77/2009, telecom operators are compelled to offer customers a series of data with respect to tariffs and their initial value, as well as to services provided, all taxes inclusive, (subscription, additional options, the purchased terminal), costs of international and primetime calls, terms of use for minutes and credits included in the offer etc.

ANCOM also said that will set up and manage a website to help customers or future customers of telecom operators compare tariffs and terms of use for landline and mobile telephony and Internet services.

Decision 77/2009 was published in the Romanian Official Journal end March.

In February, ANCOM’s president at the time, Liviu Nistoran, announced the auction to set up the website will take place this year and the estimated costs reach EUR200,000.
