Boc said, during talks with the general manager of the business operations division within the Renault-Dacia group , Patrick Pelata, that the executive wants to support car makers in order to stimulate the auto industry.

Boc said the executive will assume responsibility before the Parliament for the draft law widening the car park renewal program „Rabla” to legal entities, adding that the Government wants to continue the program in 2010 as well.

Early 2009, the Government decided to increase the total number of scrapped cars included in the car park renewal program by 20,000, from 40,000 automobiles in 2008, and the scraping bonus reached RON3,800 from RON3,000 (EUR1=RON 4.2382).

The funds allotted for this year’s car park renewal program are estimated at RON228 million.
