The areas affected by flooding are the northeastern counties of Botosani, Neamt and Iasi, the southeastern counties of Constanta, Galati, Ialomita and Tulcea, and the southern counties of Olt and Teleorman.

Waters flooded about 247 homes, 91 yards and warehouses, 2,774 hectares of forest, 2,139 hectares of farmland, 2,101 hectares of pastures and two road, and destroyed 14 homes.

Romanian water administrators said Saturday the Danube flow is decreasing, while freshets on the Prut will hit the river’s sector in northeastern city of Radauti. The Prut flow is expected to rise until Saturday afternoon.

Water authorities said the main problem remains the waters’ pressure on dams, adding that unforeseen events might occur.
