France dominates the field of Golden Globe contenders for foreign-language film, claiming 14 of the 53 slots qualified by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Italy is present with four propositions, among which "Gomorra" by Matteo Garrone and "Il Divo" by Paolo Sorrentino.
Golden Globe nominees will be announced on December 11 and awards will be handed out on January 11 at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.
“The Rest Is Silence” is also Romania’s proposal for the Oscar race in the best foreign language film category.
The film premiered in Romania on March 7.
