Lab tests showed that the patient is not contaminated with the AH1N1 virus. His health is good and he will be released from hospital Tuesday, according to the Ministry of Health. The man was committed to the “Matei Bals” Institute in Bucharest as he presented AH1N1 virus symptoms.

The 28-year old woman and her mother remain in hospital, and so do the first patients found to carry the AH1N1 virus, according to the quoted source.

Epidemiology investigations continue.

Out of the 35 people with whom the young woman came into contact on May 30, 22 were identified and are under constant surveillance, according to the Ministry.

Earlier Monday, the ministry confirmed the 28-year-old woman and her 56-year-old mother, who flew in from New York on May 29, have been infected with the H1N1 virus, bringing the total number to five cases.

The first three cases were officially confirmed over the weekend, in a 30-year-old woman who also flew into the country from New York, her 14-month-old son and her father.

All five patients are in good condition in hospital.
