Dacia’s New SUV To Come With A 7-Seat “Kanjara” Version – Paper

Romanian carmaker Dacia’s new SUV, based on the Duster concept showcased in Geneva this year, is reportedly to come with a 20 centimeters longer seven-seat version, dubbed Kanjara, the French magazine L’Automobile said Tuesday.

The SUV, the sixth Dacia model in the Logan program, will be built on Nissan Qasqai’s platform, the paper noted.

At around EUR18,000, Kanjara would be the cheapest SUV on the market.

Dacia, owned by French carmaker Renault, has declined to give too many details on their future SUV, except for the launch period, estimated for the first part of 2010.

Company officials also declined reports on an SUV showcase at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September, and refused to comment on a series of teaser pictures of the new model launched on the internet early June.

“You will have to wait nine more months (to see the car –e.n.),” a Dacia official said.
