The deal, which involves Cadbury’s Kandia-Excelent chocolate, soft cake and sugar confectionery business, was required by the European Commission to clear Kraft’s acquisition of Cadbury. Last week, Kraft announced the divestment of Cadbury’s E. Wedel business in Poland.
The sale includes Kandia-Excelent brands (Rom, Magura, Kandia, Laura, Sugus and Silvana and others), related trademarks and the manufacturing facility in Bucharest, Kraft said.
Kandia-Excelent employs approximately 530 people.
Kraft Foods said it will retain the Cadbury international brands, including Halls candy.
It said the deal is subject to the European Commission’s approval.
