Econ Min Sees All Romanian Localities Connected To Electricity Network By 2012
„We want to use Electrica’s resources and, together with the Ministry of Administration and Interior, to extend the electrification process so that the whole of Romania would be connected to electric power networks in 2012,” Videanu said.
He said he wanted the program to be fully transferred to the Economy Ministry.
According to Videanu, the sums needed for the development of this program might be obtained from privatizations and the sale of state’s minority stakes in various companies.
Besides state-owned power grid Electrica, foreign power companies present on the local market, such as Germany’s E.ON, Italy’s Enel or Czech CEZ, might be involved, if necessary, Videanu added.
Videanu made these remarks during debates of the parliamentary commissions for economic policies, reform, privatization, industries and services, which approved Wednesday the budget of the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Business Environment.
