Romania To Be Able To Precisely Diagnose AH1N1 Cases

Romania will receive, within 48 hours, reactives for a precise diagnosis in potential cases of infection with the AH1N1 virus, said Sunday health minister Ion Bazac, adding so far there have not been any cases of the swine flu.

The minister said Sunday in a press conference that the 33 samples brought Sunday at the Cantacuzino Institute, most of them from people returning from contaminated areas, are negative.

"We will receive the reactives so that, if there are contamination cases, we will be able to make a diagnosis in Romania and we will be able to take adequate action. The isolated string, however, will be sent to the laboratories in London," Bazac said.

The dignitary added the threat of this new type of flu must be treated with the utmost seriousness.
