Romanian Social Democrats Back Liberal Head Antonescu For PM

Social democrat leader Mircea Geoana made this statement after negotiations between PSD and PNL.

Geoana said the format in which the liberals would nominate a prime minister, namely Crin Antonescu, is optimal for the social democrats, while a democrat liberal (PDL) prime minister nomination is out of the question.

He added the next government and prime minister should enjoy wide support in Parliament, and this wide majority would be formed around Antonescu as prime minister.
