Romania’s state-owned Nuclearelectrica, the operator of the country’s sole nuclear power plant Cernavoda, said the plant’s security systems are functioning without problems, adding neither the staff nor the environment were affected in any way.
The nuclear power plant’s Unit 2 will be turned on and synchronized with the National Energy System after problems are solved and certain tests run according to the nuclear power plant’s procedures.
The nuclear power plant in Cernavoda currently has two operational reactors that provide around 18% of the country’s electricity consumption.
