Romania Jun New Car Registrations +18% M-M To 10,285 Units

Compared with June 2009, new car registrations were down 6.5%, the ministry’s license and car registration division said.

Overall new auto registrations–including commercial vehicles, trailers and special purpose vehicles–reached 12,250 units in June, up 16% from the previous month.

However, total new auto registrations fell 7.7% on the year, the data showed.

Dacia, made locally by French Renault’s unit Dacia Automobile, was again the best-traded brand on the local new cars market with 3,442 units in June, up from 3,086 units sold in May.

In 2009, new car registrations in Romania fell 59% on the year to 116,012 units.
