Romanian Household Gas Prices Seen Dn 12% In 2Q, At RON68/MWh

Romanian Energy Watchdog ANRE Monday said the regulated household gas prices are seen down 11.9% in the second quarter of 2009, at 68.55 lei (EUR1= RON4.2767) per MWh, compared with RON77.77/MWh in the first quarter.

"For the second quarter of 2009, ANRE evaluated the fixed unitary amount at RON68.55/MWh. The present document includes ANRE evaluations on the forecasts of necessary costs for the acquisition of natural gas to be further supplied under regulated regime (e.n. at prices settled by ANRE), including connected services," ANRE said.
 
This fixed unitary value excludes excises and VAT, but it fully covers the suppliers’ gas acquisition and transport expenses.
 
In the second quarter, ANRE envisaged gas prices from domestic output of RON45.71/MWh, flat from a previous quarter.
 
Also, ANRE forecasts a decrease in the share of the country’s gas imports, from 25% in the first quarter, to 20% in the second quarter.
 
ANRE said the imported gas prices are seen down in April to June period, at $370 /1,000 cubic meters, from $480 /1,000 cubic meters in January to April period.
