Romanian Gas Prod Romgaz Should Be Closed Down – Patriciu

Businessman Dinu Patriciu, president of Romania’s oil company Rompetrol, said Wednesday that Romgaz Medias, one of Romania’s largest gas producers, should be closed down as it has been spending the public money for 18 years, and is partially responsible for the natural gas price hike.

Patriciu said the Romanian state should seriously consider closing down the company and putting up for sale its production licenses as the company is partially responsible for the current natural gas price hike and for the future price hike. 
 
Patriciu said Wednesday Rompetrol will invest $5 million in 2008 in Sibiu city, central Romania, mainly to open new gas stations.
