Around 2,000 Employees To Be Laid Off C Romania By Mar ‘09

Several Romanian economic operators in the central county of Prahova will lay off around 2,000 employees between December 2008 and March 2009, the spokesperson of Prahova Labor Force Recruitment Agency, Dragos Parvan said Monday.

Most of the layoffs shall be made at companies Yazaki, Timken and Delfin Gen Valahia.
 
Thus, Yazaki Romania operating in Ploiesti industrial park, will lay off 173 employees in January.
 
Timken Romania will lay off 200 employees of its total 1,093 employees. Also, oil company Delfin Gen Ro Valahia will lay off 200 employees.
 
Some hundreds employees working with small and medium sized enterprises were laid off in December.
