Robin Barnett, the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Bucharest, was one of the participants. Earlier in the week, the embassies of South Africa, Australia, Canada, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and USA issued a joint press release expressing their support for the 2010 Bucharest GayFest and their solidarity with the LGBT communities in Romania.
The seventh edition of GayFest took place on May 17-22 and included a photo gallery on the history of LGBT people (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual), films, workshops, concerts, parties, a play and the "March of Diversity."
This year's edition also marked the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, May 17, which celebrates the date when homosexuality was removed from the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organization (WHO), in 1990.
