She said in the five years during which Romania has had troops in Iraq, it has proven its loyalty and correctness. She also reminded that other states have already pulled their troops.
"We understand the implications of foreign commitments and Romania’s position, but we know we have proven our loyalty and correctness toward these commitments for five years in Iraq. Moreover, many of the coalition members have already withdrawn their troops. We ask the CSAT to urgently discuss a plan for the withdrawal of Romanian troops from Iraq,” Popa said in a press release Sunday.
