Four Counties Under Code Orange Snowfall Alert

Romania’s National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued a code orange warning of snowfall for four counties, while eleven counties in the country’s south will be under the effect of a code yellow warning for strong winds.

Meteorologists announced the code orange warning for Valcea, Gorj, Hunedoara and Caras-Severin counties.

The affected areas will see moderate snowfall, sometimes in association with wind speeds of more than 80-100km/h. Visibility in the affected areas will drop below 50 meters.

The alert will be in effect until 15.00 local time on Tuesday.

At the same time, Olt, Teleorman, Cluj, Salaj, Satu Mare. Arad. Bihor, Timis, Mehedinti and Dolj counties will be under a code yellow alert for strong winds until about 17.00 local time, while Mures county will be under the effect of the same alert until 16.00.
