"They (the transporters) are the first ones to bring a great deal of damage to roads and most of them don’t pay road tolls, and they have schemes through which they put excessive cargo in trucks, and in the meantime they complain that there aren’t any good roads and highways. We will have national roads and highways in Romania when we take care of the ones we have and get used to the idea that everyone pays for the use of the road," Berceanu said.
He added the payment of the road toll is performed incorrectly and only 25%-30% of transporters compelled to pay do so, while the rest choose to travel without road toll stickers.
"I believe we need to introduce systems for the inspection of the road toll because only 25%-30% of those compelled to pay buy the sticker," the minister said.
