The three men, originally from Harseni (Brasov County), were arrested after police viewed closed-circuit security system footage, Polish police spokesperson Joanna Kacka said. The victim, who was in the jewelry trade business, lived alone. The footage shows the Romanians breaking into the house. The woman called the neighbors but died because of her wounds, Kacka said.

The camera captured the escape vehicle’s license plate and they were arrested a few hours later, together with a fourth Romanian national who had helped sell the victim’s jewelry. He is charged with complicity.

The three men, aged between 18 and 34, will plead guilty and will serve up to 12 years in prison.
