Romania Oct Residential Building Permits -13.1% MM, -27.7% YY

Nearly 67.1% of the building permits issued in October were for residential projects in the rural area, mirroring the same trend from the past months.

The major decreases compared with September in the number of issued building permits were registered in the central region, the northeastern zone, and the southern-Muntenia region. Hence, the western area accounted for an increase in the number of building permits, by 33 units.

Compared with October 2008, the most significant decreases were registered in central area, the northeastern zone, the southern-Muntenia region, and Bucharest-Ilfov.

Romania issued 41,861 buildings permits for residential projects in the first ten months, down 21.2% on the year, INS also said.
