The committee is checking how the Ministry of Environment attributed the advertising contract worth over 2 million lei on April 28, 2009 by negotiation without publishing an auction announcement.

The contract was for the promotion of programs regarding the modernization of urban heating systems in areas most affected by pollution but the program is practically only beginning. Three quarters of the sum assigned for the contract are European funds.

The parliament inquiry committee will also hear the secretary general of the Ministry of Environment and the managers of the advertising company that received the contract.

Committee president, social democrat Mircea Dusa, said the committee should draft a report on the case by mid-August.
