During March-August, 146,386 vehicles were registered for the first time, of which, 15,831 units, or 10.81% of total vehicles, were rejected on the first registration, while an additional 796,938 vehicles, which were subject to such procedures before, were registered during the same period, a press release of RAR read.
According to RAR, vehicles registered for the first time are in a better tehnical condition, which gradually worsens once the car is engaged in traffic on public roads countrywide, and some of the cars liable for the first registration have not been engaged in traffic for some time and most of them have problems with the braking system.
An average 20,000 vehicles per month were registered in the first half of the year, in July, upon introducing the new car tax, the number doubled, reaching over 40,000 car registrations, while in August, a total 50,000 vehicles were registered.
