Romania To Deploy Additional 600 Troops To Afghanistan

„The CSAT approved the deployment of additional 600 troops to increase the forces deployed on the Afghanistan theater of operations, and the maximum number of troops deployed could reach 1,798. In 2010, the Romanian Army will be able to join missions outside its soil with a total number of 3,753 troops,” said a press release issued by the president’s office.

Romania currently has over 1,000 troops deployed in Afghanistan, part of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force
