"The document will be adopted within one or two hours, based on the conclusion draft. On Romania’s request, it was decided that the EU would not launch negotiations with Moldova for a new treaty until Chisinau changes its visa policy," Diaconescu said.

The minister added the decision was made at Romania’s request. He added the document, which is currently a conclusion draft, was prepared beforehand and will surely be adopted.

"Basically, Romania’s name is not mentioned, but the document states negotiations will start when Moldova removes visas for all EU states," the dignitary explained.

He added the EU – Moldova Council, set to take place tomorrow, has been postponed.

"In addition, the Council requested an inquiry on the events of violence occurring after April 6,” Diaconescu said.

The minister added Moldova is required to provide a democratic frame for the next elections, which implies freedom of expression and access for all candidates to the media.
