Romanian citizens are advised to avoid the border areas between Chechnya- Shatili, Omalo, Pankisi Valley and their adjacent regions.
The announcement was made on the official site of the ministry, in the “Warnings” section.
The ministry reminds any Romanian citizen intending to leave Georgia on their own that the Romanian Embassy in Tbilisi would provide assistance to this purpose if requested.
Security in Georgia is continuously at risk since conflict broke out on August 7, in Southern Ossetia, according to the ministry.
Nearly 50 Romanians are currently living in Georgia, but no evacuation request has been filed yet, as they live in war-free areas, the ministry said Monday in a statement.
The Foreign Ministry said the Romanian authorities are ready to evacuate any Romanian citizen living in Georgia, should the situation demand it.
The ministry added the current state of affairs in Georgia will not yet trigger evacuation procedures of Romanian citizens.
