Romania currently holds 51% in the project company, but authorities have announced, on multiple occasions, that the state’s interest will be reduced.

However, Videanu said the current stake may be maintained, adding that authorities „are flexible” in the matter.

The project for the construction of nuke reactors 3 and 4, worth some EUR4 billion, is unfolded by EnergoNuclear, which is 51% controlled by state-owned nuke plant operator Nuclearelectrica.

Other shareholders include German RWE, Italian Enel, French GDF SUEZ and Czech CEZ, each with 9.15% of stock, while ArcelorMittal Romania and Iberdrola hold 6.2% each.
