According to Duta, starting 2012, health insurance contributions for the before mentioned category of pensioners will be paid by the state.

He said that, under the healthcare law, contributions to the health insurance fund for pensioners on low income and for other special categories of people must be paid by the state. He added that, as the state does not have the money to pay these contributions, an order was issued to suspend contribution payments until 2012.

Duta said pensioners earning a monthly income of RON741 will contribute RON1 to the health insurance fund, so that, by paying the contribution, their income will not decrease below RON740.
